A hot second ago, the A-list was sporting caramel locks. Now they've moved on to something just as rich --super shiny chocolate. Audrina Patridge is just few of the celebrities indulging in the shade.

"At salon changing my hair!" Audrina wrote of going back to brunette after wrapping up the last season of The Hills. "Eventually ill do something completely different! I love change but for now takin it back to the dark side a bit."

"We have gradually been going darker over the last few months and arrived at this rich sable brown," the star’s colorist, George Papanikolas, shared with usmagazine.com. "We did this as a gradual transition so she could play with different looks."

A bonus with darker hair? It reflects light so it looks instantly -- and effortlessly -- thick and shiny. To keep colored hair in healthy condition, Papanikolas suggests using a dab of tress-moisturizing styling oil daily.
